Find IDs in Close

Whether you're setting up a Zapier flow or connecting to our API, you might need to find the following IDs in Close:

• User
• Lead
• Email Template
• Custom Field
• Opportunity Status
• Lead Status

User ID

To find a User ID, go to your Reporting > Activity Overview.

• At the top-right corner, select the user you want the User ID for.

• Click on any number in blue. In the below example, I would click on 9.

• This will take you to a search query which will include the User ID. It starts with user_.

Lead ID

To find a Lead ID in your browser, go to your Leads and click on the lead of your choice. The Lead ID will be in the URL. It starts with lead_.

Email Template ID

To find an Email Template ID in your browser, go to your Settings > Email Templates.

• Click to edit the template of your choice.
• The Template ID will be in the URL. It starts with tmpl_.

Custom Field ID

To find a Lead, Contact, or Opportunity Custom Field ID, go to your Settings > Custom Fields.

• To the right of the Custom Field of your choice, click on the three horizontal dots.
• Then click on Copy ID (API) to copy the ID to your clipboard.

Opportunity Status ID

To find an Opportunity Status ID, go to your Leads and click on Narrow Your Results to open the search sidebar.

• Go to Opportunities.
• Under Find Opportunities where..., click Current Status and choose the status you need the ID for.

• In the top search bar of your screen, a query with your Opportunity Status ID will appear. The ID starts with stat_.

Lead Status ID

To find a Lead Status ID, go to Reporting > Status Changes. Note that you will need to have at least one lead in the Lead Status you want for this to work. Filter the report to All Leads and make sure the filter isn't set to All Time. You can pick This Year or Last Year*, or any other filter that will include at leads one leads in that status.

• Click on the dropdown arrow next to your desired status. This will open up a graph.

• Click on a number within the graph. You have the following two options:
• Created > Potential: If you click on the number going from Created to your desired status, Close will take you to a search query which includes your desired Lead Status ID. The Status ID starts with stat_.

• Potential > Customer: If you click on the number going from your desired status to another status, Close will take you to a search query which includes two Lead Status IDs. The ID you want is the old status.
